Hotel Morrison

Isn’t this boarded up and empty building in downtown Los Angeles, near the Staples Center, the Hotel Morrison where the Doors shot a cover picture for one of their albums?  As we recall this is that location.  A restaurant worker across the street confirmed that this was indeed formerly known as the Hotel Morrison.  Are they going to restore it, or . . .?

Being “on the road” can take you to varioius types of destinations.  For some, the Pike in Long Beach is an amusment park that bring with it, fond memories of days from decades ago.

MVC-005FNick’s cafe in Los Angeles was a great place to fuel up with a hot dog that was very tasty, big and not at all expensive.  We had the kraut dog, recalled (with fondness) similar stops at Harry’s in Sydney, and then resumed our search for great car-spotting photo opportunities.
