A work of art!

This isn’t a modern art painting.  It’s a window at the Santa Monica Public Library reflecting a different area of the same building.

Papoose Puppy

September 12, 2010

If a photo of a cute papoose puppy is taken by a photographer from Berekely while visiting in Santa Monica, is that photo eligible to be used as the feature foto of the day on the Berkeleyside site?

If it gets posted in the Berkeleyside flickr group photos will it be bounced for not being a photo of Berkeley stuff taken in Berkeley?

This photo was taken by a Berkely photographer in Santa Monica on Thursday Sept. 9, 2010 (at Forth ST. and SM Blvd?).  We had to take several frames to “get it.”  This was the best frame.

Well, we should soon find out the answers to these questions.

To be continued . . .

Walking a pet in Santa Monica

MVC-008FThis fellow was walking with his pet in Santa Monica on Tuesday August 25, 2009.  We asked if we could take a picture.  He said “Ok.”  So we did.

Just another Ferrari?

MVC-002F

While waiting for a bus to take us to the Santa Monica Public Library, we wondered if we should pull out the old camera and maybe get a photo for our car-spotting blog.  So we took the camera out, turned it on, and voila! this car pulled up to stop for a red light.  We thought Oh, it’s just another Ferrari, but then we realized that some poor folks (such as the ones who live up there in Alameda) might not get to see such exotic cars as often as the people in L. A. do; so we took this picture just for those unfortunate folks who live in the city that is near Berkeley.
